Class description:
Hunter Method/RootWrrk is an Afro-modernist rendering of contemporary dance devised to cultivate and strengthen the body, mind, and soul.
The four pillars of Breath, Beat, Resonance, Form are the foundation upon which the Principles and Energetics are expressively embodied through Center Work (standing and seated floor series’ and sequences), Crossings (movements and phrasework), and in the Round (guided improvisation).
The curative and aesthetic possibilities of Hunter Method/RootWrrk are conceived through the articulation and integration of ASE (Activation, Succession, and Emanation) towards bodily depth and breadth, immediacy and authenticity and as a medium of expression and a means of communication.
